Who we are: Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids (BB4CK) is a mission-focused grassroots organization, working to build and strengthen communities that ensure every child has enough to eat at school. Our team is small, working together in our areas of strength to ensure we can have broad impact in our community.


Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids has increased the number of hungry kids fed daily through its programs by almost 70% since 2015. To accomplish this increased impact, BB4CK has broadened its program delivery through community partnerships and a focus on encouraging and supporting people in Calgary to act in meaningful ways to feed kids. Today, BB4CK continues to grow and transition to achieve our goal of no hungry kids. This is an exciting and challenging time in our organizational life, as we continue to meet the growing need in our community, while also focusing our efforts on strengthening our systems and processes to support our growing organization.

The Finance Accounts Payable Coordinator: The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and administering the financial records, systems and processes of the daily Accounts payable, in adherence with GAAP, NFPO and the organization’s financial policies and procedures. This role will work closely with the Financial Lead and Finance team.


The role of the Finance Accounts Payable Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

Whole Organization:

· Be responsible for own health and wellness, personally and professionally, and take ownership to ensure you can perform this role as needed

· Contribute wholeheartedly to BB4CK’s vision and mission

· Working effectively on tasks assigned within the context of BB4CK values and culture


This Role:

· Collect and Record payables – All expenses with in each team

· Process, manage credit card expenses for staff and community groups

· Support Grocery Card Team with financial data input

· Support financial tasks for new programs as they are implemented

Other Knowledge and Skills:

· Working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook mail, Teams) and QuickBooks Online, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

· Flexible and adaptable to changing situations

· High degree of confidentiality



· Set up and liaise with Vendors

· Reconciling Vendor monthly statements

· Knowledge of a receipt collection online platform (We use Dext)

· Record Automatic debits and payments to Vendors and suppliers

· Experience in collection and investigations of expense invoices and receipts

· Coordinate Lead approvals of expenses

· Process, reconcile and manage credit card expenses

· Experience with GAAP and CRA regulations in not for profit will be considered an asset.


Education and Experience:

· 3 + years’ experience in an office environment

· 3 + years working closely in a team

· Experience thinking on your feet, problem solving and building both short- and long-term solutions


Kitchen Team Support:

· All employees of BB4CK are expected to offer their support in our kitchen spaces, as needed, while managing their own capacity and schedules throughout the course of their employment.
