Individual volunteers who want to help BB4CK usually do so at our downtown kitchen. There’s plenty of work to be done helping to make and pack the hundreds of lunches that go out to schools each morning, Monday through Thursday, during the school year. You’ll need to book your volunteer time in advance so we can schedule you, but no special skills are required — we’re happy to train you on the job.
We offer a variety of volunteer positions including, delivering lunches, early bird kitchen role, regular kitchen role, clean up crew, office help, picking up and receiving food and many other volunteer roles. Email us for more information.
Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles to deliver lunches to schools where hungry kids need them. Drivers arrive at the kitchen by 9:30 a.m. and are given a route of about 5 schools that in the same area of the city.
If you’re looking for a volunteer opportunity within your community, let us know. We can help connect you with an existing group, or with other individuals in your area. You could be part of starting a community group, making lunches for kids in nearby schools.
