Lunch support for families during school closures
In response to the ever-changing environment this pandemic has created, BB4CK is making some adjustments to our programs. We are still committed to ensuring kids have access to healthy lunches when they need them. We will just be doing this in a different way.
If your family or someone you know has received free lunch at school recently and now needs food support during these difficult times, we are here to help.
Right now, BB4CK is offering a $20 grocery gift certificate for every child who has recently received free lunch at school. This gift card can be requested below, and will be mailed to you as soon as possible.
Our team is working on an ongoing basis to determine what additional supports we can offer over the weeks to come. Please sign up for updates, and watch this page for more details.
In the meantime – wash your hands. Take care of your family. Connect with your community.
With the cancellation of classes, we remain focused on finding ways to feed kids who will be missing out on meals at school. Watch this page for more information on Monday.
This is a scary and uncertain week. Providing opportunities for stability and consistency for kids is important, and the BB4CK community is committed to doing our part throughout the COVID-19 situation.
We continue to ensure our kitchens operate with the highest possible cleanliness, and we have asked staff and volunteers who are sick or have travelled internationally to stay home. We’re taking every possible step to ensure that food for students is safe and not affected.
At this time, BB4CK is working to ensure that lunches can continue to be provided to students with no changes or interruptions. Ensuring that kids have food is our highest priority, and that hasn’t changed.
However, things are frequently shifting. We are taking our cues from the School Boards and Alberta Health Services. Should the schools experience a change in their schedules, we are preparing to ensure we can continue to care for students who need it. As things change and more is known, updates will be posted here.
