Thank You, Volunteers!

Throughout the 2022/23 school year, dedicated volunteers have generously donated over 27,987 hours of their time to feed and care for kids in our city. Their selfless contributions have not only made an impact by giving kids the opportunity to learn grow and play. In fact, according to a study conducted by the Do Good Institute, the estimated value of a volunteer hour in April 2022 was $29.95. This means that our volunteers have contributed an astounding $838,210.65 in hourly wages to BB4CK over the course of the past school year.

While the financial value of volunteering is undoubtedly significant, it is the intangible rewards that truly make the difference.

Our volunteers consistently express how their experiences with BB4CK have enriched their lives in numerous ways. “This is such a dynamic worthwhile cause! I love contributing and connecting with so many people in my community, and through the city. The main office team are so energetic, helpful, just all-around a great gang. The kitchen crews are all so dedicated, and fun!”, says one of our core volunteers.

Not only have they made a difference in the lives of children, but they have also formed lasting friendships with their fellow volunteers!

Volunteers are the heart of BB4CK. The friendships formed, the social interactions experienced, and the sense of value and appreciation received are all powerful incentives that drive volunteers to continue making a difference.

We are so grateful for the remarkable contributions of every volunteer, as they embody the trust in our people to take meaningful action. Together, we will continue to nourish and care for the future of Calgary – one child at a time!
