“Life has exposed me to how many families are struggling through no fault of their own and just how life changing organizations like Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids can be. I am particularly passionate about the relationship between food security and success in school and other key areas of a child’s life and I am grateful to be a small part of a great team feeding Calgary’s kids.”

“Giving school aged kids a fair opportunity to succeed includes ensuring they are well nourished and able to focus on their schoolwork instead of their hunger. The immediacy of the benefit to kids of enjoying a lunch prepared by BB4CK and their volunteers that day is perhaps the most rewarding aspect of being involved with this amazing organization.”
Katie Mahon
Director
Katie is pleased to join the BB4CK board, offering over ten years experience in community development. Katie holds a leadership role with the national charity Ever Active Schools, which supports health and wellbeing for children and youth in school communities, and helps to guide her organization’s efforts around equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging.
Katie has lived in Calgary for just over five years and is very glad for the opportunity to volunteer and give back to this city that has welcomed her warmly. Specifically, BB4CK’ vision of community collaboration and togetherness so that no kid goes hungry aligns with her professional efforts towards health and wellbeing for all children and youth. As a community member in Calgary, a professional in the sector and also as a mother, Katie believes passionately in the work of BB4CK and is proud to be part of it.
Graeme Wright
Director
Graeme Wright began volunteering at Brown Bagging in 2016 and joined the board in 2022. He is the Land Manager for Capital Projects at TC Energy and has a background in project management and stakeholder engagement. These days his spare time is often spent chauffeuring his three kids to all their various social and sporting activities.
“As a father of three high energy kids, the thought of their classmates and friends possibly lacking regular access to healthy food inspired me to volunteer with BB4CK, and I feel very connected to its Mission. Joining the Board and having the opportunity to work closely with the BB4CK team continues to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.”
