Chris Foster
Board Chair
Chris Foster has been with us on the Board since June 2022 and currently serves as our board chair. Chris is a Managing Director at Accenture with over 25 years of executive leadership in the energy, telecom and education sectors, most recently as the Chief Information and Innovation Officer at TC Energy. Chris is passionate about innovation and how technology can enable organizations to succeed and strive for an exciting future vision.
A stereotype ex-pat from the UK, Chris loves nothing more than a great curry and a well-made cup of tea!
“Life has exposed me to how many families are struggling through no fault of their own and just how life changing organizations like Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids can be. I am particularly passionate about the relationship between food security and success in school and other key areas of a child’s life and I am grateful to be a small part of a great team feeding Calgary’s kids.”

Chris Salamon
Secretary
Chris Salamon joined the Board of Brown Bagging in February 2024 and currently sits on the Governance Committee and the Audit & Finance Committee. Chris moved to Calgary in 2009 and currently works as a lawyer at Suncor Energy after previously practicing securities and M&A law in Calgary and New York. While not working or trying to keep up with his two kids, Chris enjoys running (slowly), playing tennis (poorly) and following the NFL.
“I am very proud to be part of the Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids organization. Anything that can be done to lessen the impact of food insecurity on children helps make our community a better place”.

Dave Newby
Treasurer
Giving school aged kids a fair opportunity to succeed includes ensuring they are well nourished and able to focus on their schoolwork instead of their hunger. The immediacy of the benefit to kids of enjoying a lunch prepared by BB4CK and their volunteers that day is perhaps the most rewarding aspect of being involved with this amazing organization.”

Graeme Wright
Vice-Chair
“As a father of three high energy kids, the thought of their classmates and friends possibly lacking regular access to healthy food inspired me to volunteer with BB4CK, and I feel very connected to its Mission. Joining the Board and having the opportunity to work closely with the BB4CK team continues to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.”

Heather Kinghorn
Director
Heather Kinghorn joined the Board of Brown Bagging in February 2025 and brings over 20 years of experience as a finance professional, currently as the Director of Enterprise Optimization with Enerflex Ltd. Heather is an avid traveler who loves learning about different cultures around the world.
I am passionate about empowering our youth with the tools to make and achieve ambitious goals. I believe that providing kids with consistent access to nutritious food will help them to thrive. I am grateful to be a small part of a great team feeding Calgary’s kids.

Janeen Scott
Director
I’m a leader and Human Resource professional with 20 years of experience working with diverse individuals and teams to achieve results. Traveling is a passion of mine, and my time is often spent exploring the local culture and food.
Throughout my various volunteer experiences in Calgary, I’m always inspired by the generous spirit of Calgarians and BB4CK is no exception. I love BB4CK mission to feed kids in schools and I’m proud to be a part of the BB4CK team that is addressing food insecurity in Calgary.

Julia Hewitt
Director
“Being part of the Board for Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids has been an inspiration; working with so many passionate individuals on the Board and within the organization. This is a cause I care deeply about and am proud to contribute to its success.”

Katie Mahon
Director
Katie has lived in Calgary for just over five years and is very glad for the opportunity to volunteer and give back to this city that has welcomed her warmly. Specifically, BB4CK’ vision of community collaboration and togetherness so that no kid goes hungry aligns with her professional efforts towards health and wellbeing for all children and youth. As a community member in Calgary, a professional in the sector and also as a mother, Katie believes passionately in the work of BB4CK and is proud to be part of it.

Kim Chow
Director
“I believe no child should go hungry. Food fuels learning, growth, and confidence. Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids ensures that children have the nourishment they need to thrive, and I am honored to be part of the mission that creates real impact in our community. “

Matt Rachiele
Director
Matt joined the Board in February 2025 and brings nearly 20 years of diverse finance, commercial real estate and management experience to the role. Matt is the Co-Founder & Managing Partner of XXIII Capital Inc., a private industrial real estate investment firm. Prior thereto, he was an investment banker with one of Canada’s largest banks and a Managing Director with Canada’s largest commercial brokerage. His wife is an operating room nurse, and he currently has three children in elementary school.
“My first experience helping address food uncertainty started in elementary school when I would bring three lunches to school each day – two for classmates who otherwise went without. I strongly believe that a lack of nourishing foods directly impacts mental health as much as physical, dictating that individual’s ability to focus and thrive in school and ultimately life. I am passionate about helping find ways to conquer food scarcity, specifically for youth.”

Sarah Wilson Cook
Director
Sarah Wilson Cook joined us on the Board in February 2025. She has over 20 years of experience working in Calgary’s energy sector in public affairs, communications and community investment. Sarah has a long history and commitment of volunteerism in Calgary. She is passionate about supporting organizations that lift Calgary’s culture and community spirit, and support people in need. In her spare time, Sarah loves to travel with her family or take in a live show around town.
“I’m proud to join the BB4CK Board and make a tangible difference for Calgary students. It is incredibly rewarding to build healthier and stronger communities by ensuring students have reliable access to nutritious meals.”
