School Lunch Program
Throughout the school year, our community comes together to connect kids across Calgary to the food they need to learn, play and grow.
We know that when kids don’t have the food they need, it can affect their ability to focus, learn, and connect with friends. In Alberta, 2 in 5 children live in a household experiencing food insecurity. (PROOF, 2025)
The School Lunch Program provides nutritious lunches to students at no cost to them or their families.
Every day, volunteers come together in BB4CK’s Central and Community kitchens across Calgary to prepare fresh lunches. With the help of volunteer drivers, we deliver lunches to more than 280 schools across the city, so close to 8,000 kids have access to the food they need to thrive.
Our community ensures these lunches are provided with care, dignity and free from stigma.

How it works
There are three ways we support schools:
1.We deliver lunches
We deliver ready-to-eat lunches to schools across the city, prepared by volunteers in our kitchens and including a sandwich, fruit, veggies, dairy, and a snack.
We offer 8 sandwich options. This approach supports dignity and choice, giving students the ability to choose what works best for them. We can also accommodate dietary needs, including Halal, lactose-free, and gluten-free options.
Take a look at what goes into a BB4CK lunch:
2. We fund school-based programs
We also support schools that run their own lunch programs by providing funding to help them purchase food locally.
3. We support on-site lunch programs
We support schools that prepare and serve lunches on-site, with monthly invoicing to make things easier.

Fill in the form linked here with the necessary information about your children and their schools. If it is a school we already support we will reach out to you about how we can support as soon as possible. If it is not among the schools we support we will reach out to the school to see if they have the capacity for our supports. You will get a response between 3-5 business days about if you can access the supports.
How can I access food supports?
Fill in the form linked here for our family engagement coordinator to see which food supports are available to support you. We will try to reach back out to you as soon as possible, but please be patient with our team as we navigate all requests.
My child is homeschooled can I get lunches?
We currently do not offer programming directly for homeschooled children, but if you email our hello@bb4ck.org account, we will try our best to see what food supports we can connect you to.
I live outside of Calgary can I get my child signed up for lunches?
We currently offer supports in over 280 Calgary schools, but unfortunately our supports are limited to Calgary schools. Reach out to your local school to see if there is similar support offered by another organization in your local city.
I want to be involved as a parent with BB4CK. How do I do that?
We have many opportunities for families to engage with us, we have our Peer Advisory Council for Parents of children receiving our programming, we also have volunteer opportunities across the organization that we can connect you to. It is important for our organization that families are involved in our vision to help feed kids.
