Help make lunches for 6,500 kids!

Volunteer Now

Every week, we rely on the support of over 600 amazing individuals who come together in kitchens all across our city to prepare over 6,500 nutritious lunches. But with the increasing demand and the fluctuation of volunteers coming to volunteer in the kitchens, we simply can’t keep up. The truth is, 1 in 4 kids in Alberta face food insecurity, and we need more compassionate hearts and willing hands to make a difference.

Our volunteers are the heartbeat of what we do, and we would love to have you join us in the kitchen!

Who we are

The BB4CK community includes dedicated people – parents, volunteers, teachers and school staff, community leaders, donors, kids and BB4CK’s staff – who take meaningful action to connect kids to the food they need.

Why do we do it

1 in 4 kids live in a household facing food insecurity1. Food is a basic need and a human right. BB4CK provides nutritious lunches at school to ensure that kids receive the food they need to reach their full potential.

How do we do it

We work with our community, with Calgarians around our city who volunteer in over 30 satellite kitchens to make and deliver sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, packed snacks and baked goods. We also work with families experiencing food insecurity, gathering feedback to design programming that address food insecurity in our city.
